QNAP Malware Security Update (Malware remover 2.1.2)

QNAP announced (May 12/2017) a new to prevent attacks that possibly exploit known vulnerabilities in earlier QTS versions. QNAP says that malware might be downloaded and executed which in turn installs a QTS 4.2.5 build on the compromised system. This malware may potentially result in unauthorized access to NAS data.

QNAP states that Photo Station 5.4.1 and 5.2.7 have to be upgraded because of vulnerability related to the XMR mining programs identified by internal research.

How to update Photo Station?

  1. Log on to QTS as administrator.
  2. Open the App Center and then click the Search icon.
  3. Type “Photo Station” and then press ENTER.The Photo Station application appears in the search results list.
  4. Click Update.The application is updated.

As A1 Security Cameras, we highly recommend the users to install to detect and delete the possible malware on your NAS. After the deleting process is done, do not forget to to the latest version of QTS compatible with your NAS and chane the password.

How to Install Malware Remover 2.1.2?

  1. Log on to QTS as administrator.

  4. Click Install.
