In 2017, Sony and Bosch announced partnership. In 2019, Sony made a strategic decision to let Bosch North America to handle all their North America sales and distribution. Earlier this year, Sony made\u00a0a new announcement<\/a>\u00a0to cease Sony branded camera production by December 31, 2020. The decision came as shocker to many but knowing this industry, it was not surprising to us. We saw this with Taiwanese manufacturers such as Messoa leaving North America while keeping Nuuo, a fellow Taiwanese NVR manufacturer, as their predecessor. Sony followed the same suit.<\/p>\n

Fast forward to today, the last day to order Sony branded products is September 18, 2020.<\/strong>\u00a0After this date, they will not accept any new orders. Sony has reduced their inventory significantly and has been building new products as they receive order. The lead time has been around 6-8 weeks since 2019. We are expecting the same lead time with new orders however if you have been planning to buy new Sony branded products,\u00a0this is the one and only chance to place your order now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bosch products match Sony image quality and reliability, while providing the additional benefits of industry leading cyber security, analytics, and data management capabilities. Nearly every Bosch camera utilizes Sony sensors. Sony will continue to supply and support these sensors making the transition to Bosch a natural migration for Sony customers. We will also add a conversion ring to the Bosch portfolio that allows for mounting Bosch cameras to existing Sony wall mounts.<\/em>
