Toshiba states that “– Toshiba America Information Systems and OpenEye announced agreement by which OpenEye will cooperate with TAIS to transition Surveillix security products business customers from TAIS to Open Eye. OpenEye has been an OEM provider to TAIS for over a decade and, therefore, integration between the Surveillix and OpenEye recording products is virtually seamless. As part of the agreement, OpenEye will facilitate the ongoing technical support and product service for all Toshiba Security Products- this is also a continuation of an existing agreement between TAIS and OpenEye.

Toshiba will sell off its inventory of Toshiba brand network cameras as they are gradually replaced by OpenEye models. OpenEye will transition Toshiba Security hybrid and network video recorder products to the OpenEye brand as of January 1, 2018. In addition, all Toshiba Security products technical support and warranty services will continue to be provided by OpenEye on an on-going basis after 12/31/17. OpenEye will also make software updates, security patches, and system expansion licenses available for all Toshiba Surveillix hybrid and network video recorders. As Toshiba Security’s long-term technology development partner for these products, OpenEye actively maintains the engineering resources required to deliver such services”

Greg Hartzell –Director of Security Divisin in Toshiba America Information Systems said that ““The transition of the Surveillix Security Products Business customers to OpenEye is consistent with ourstrategy of refocusing on our core business initiatives. We understand this situation may cause you and your end-user customers to have many questions.

We have taken immediate steps to address the most pressing concerns that we believe our partners and end-user customers will have.
