HDTV has grown in leaps and bounds these past few years and these technological advancements have not passed security cameras by. Axis has pounced upon the super-high quality 4K, bringing 4K Ultra HD to their security products. 4K Ultra HD is a whopping four times larger in resolution than the already decent 1080p HD video resolution with both using the 16:9 format. (As defined by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, SMPTE, where 3840×2160 pixels is a high color fidelity with 25/30 Hertz progressive scanning or 50/60 Hz progressive scanning.)
It is necessary that, to get the best out of such high-quality 4K cameras, that users use a 4K monitor. However, no conversion or deinterlacing is necessary when the video is processed by a computer.
