Standing for 2 Guys in a Garage, 2GIG was started by a couple of former Honeywell employees and began manufacturing products in 2007. The American company would quickly gain fame and recognition for its security panels that allow for easy configuration and management of the alarm system in a home or business. As of 2013, 2GIG was acquired by the Nortek Control and is headquartered in Carlsbad, California.
