The AXIS D2124-VE Radar delivers 360° detection with AI-powered classification of humans and vehicles across a very large area, 24/7 and in all weather and lighting conditions. Using 24 GHz FMCW technology, it covers up to 430,000 sq ft for people and 850,000 sq ft for vehicles. It recognizes a person at up to 450 ft and detects vehicles at up to 650 ft, tracking speeds up to 50 mph. Box-shaped detection and recognition zones simplify coverage planning and allow gap-free perimeter design. Radar image stabilization keeps detections accurate on poles, rooftops and mobile surveillance trailers in windy conditions.

The radar is designed to pair with the AXIS Q6225-LE PTZ camera. When powered by an Axis High PoE 120W midspan, its built-in PoE output (IEEE 802.3bt Class 8, up to 71W) powers the PTZ with no extra cable drop. AXIS Radar Autotracking for PTZ then enables visual and radar double-knock verification. An ARTPEC-9 system-on-chip with a deep learning processing unit, 4 GB RAM and microSD edge storage handles analytics on the device. It streams H.264, H.265, AV1 and Motion JPEG video, and a dynamic RGB LED strip can be used to deter, warn or notify intruders.

Built for harsh sites, the aluminum and plastic casing is IP66/IP67, NEMA 4X and IK10 rated and operates from -40°F to 140°F. Axis Edge Vault provides hardware-based cybersecurity with secure boot, signed OS and a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 secure keystore. The radar integrates via VAPIX, ACAP and ONVIF Profiles G, M, S and T, is TAA compliant and is backed by a 5-year Axis warranty.
