The AXIS TU8008 Media Converter extends Ethernet networks over optical fiber for long-distance camera installations such as city surveillance, airports, and large campuses. By converting copper Ethernet to fiber, it mitigates lightning and electrical surge risks on long cable runs while preserving reliable camera connectivity and enabling remote maintenance access from monitors or laptops at either end of the link.

Equipped with two shielded RJ45 ports (10/100/1000BASE-T) and two SFP slots supporting 100/1G/2.5GBASE-X modules, the TU8008 offers flexible deployment options including daisy-chain connections that can support multiple cameras depending on bit rate and link limitations. The device runs on 12–48 VDC or 22–26 VAC power, drawing a maximum of 4.92 W, and provides a 6-pin AC/DC power and alarm terminal connector for straightforward field wiring.

Housed in a compact black steel enclosure rated IP30, the TU8008 is designed for a wide operating temperature range from -40 °C to 75 °C (-40 °F to 167 °F), making it suitable for challenging indoor and outdoor enclosure environments.
