AXIS YP3040 Pan-Tilt Motor 5901-201

I don’t know how to evaluate the motor. For me this motor is a solid three for two reason. The first being a positive comment, which is the weather proofing. The motor can hold against heavy rain with great ease. There is no better feeling than knowing the motor wont go bust because of water seeping into the circuit. The second reason and this is where the annoyance comes out is the compatibility issue. The motor only works with select models which is a shame. The motor moves so effortlessly that it would be nice to attach it to cameras that you already have.

Response time is commendable. The tilt and pan function are very responsive and the motor moves with a very smooth flow. The axis motors helped us to save money. The cost of buying motors was less than upgrading the cameras. The mount was cheap as the cameras were compatible. The set up didn’t take long either. Within two and a half hours all six cameras were upgraded and the functions were tested. Testing took up most of this time. The tilt range is vey beneficial. Now I can cover the roofs of the building opposite and the sidewalk.
