The Vivotek CU9171-HF is a 4MP indoor pinhole camera unit from the Vivotek V (Versatile) Series, built for installations where the camera itself needs to disappear. The flat-shaped body measures 1.30 x 1.26 x 0.79 in (33 x 32 x 20 mm) and weighs 43 g, so it sits nearly flush against ceilings, walls, panels and fixtures at ATMs, bank branches, retail counters and offices. The unit connects to a VC9101 video core over a 5-meter USB Micro-B to RJ11 cable and draws less than 1.25 W, so no separate power supply is required at the sensor location.

Image quality comes from a 1/2.7" progressive scan CMOS sensor recording at 2688x1520 (4MP). A fixed 3.7 mm lens with an F2.5 fixed iris provides a 93.0° horizontal, 48.0° vertical and 117.0° diagonal field of view, wide enough to cover a teller counter or a small room from a single discreet opening. WDR Pro delivers 120 dB of dynamic range to hold detail in scenes that mix shaded interiors with bright doorways and windows, while a minimum color illumination of 0.045 lux keeps images usable in dim lobbies and after-hours lighting. Shutter speeds range from 1/5 to 1/32,000 sec., and 3DNR noise reduction maintains a 55.9 dB signal-to-noise ratio.

The unit streams at 30 fps at full 2688x1520 resolution with WDR off, or 24 fps with WDR enabled, using H.265, H.264 or MJPEG compression to balance image quality against bandwidth and storage. Measured to the EN 62676-4 DORI standard, the CU9171-HF detects at 252.6 ft, observes at 100.1 ft, recognizes at 50.5 ft and identifies at 25.3 ft. It operates from -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F) at up to 90% relative humidity, carries CE, FCC, RCM, VCCI, UL, CB and BSMI approvals, and is backed by a 60-month manufacturer warranty.
