Please note: this product is the video core only, not a complete camera. It has no lens or image sensor of its own and must be paired with one Vivotek CU series camera unit (CU9171-H, CU9171-HF, CU9183-H or CU9183-HF), which is sold separately.

The Vivotek VC9101 is the processing half of the Vivotek V (Versatile) Series split-type camera system. The camera unit hides inside a ceiling, wall or fixture while the VC9101 sits up to 5 meters away in a service space or enclosure, carrying the processor, network port, storage and audio connections. The chassis measures 3.31 x 4.13 x 1.18 in (84 x 105 x 30 mm) and weighs 190 g, and it runs on IEEE 802.3af PoE or a DC 8-36 V supply at under 8.5 W, with simultaneous power redundancy so both sources can stay connected.

A multimedia SoC with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash drives the system, delivering up to 2688x1520 or 1920x1920 depending on which camera unit is attached, with 120 dB WDR Pro and three simultaneous streams across up to eight configurable profiles in H.265, H.264 or MJPEG. A built-in hardware deep learning accelerator runs Face Check and Smart Motion Detection on the device, with five-window motion detection, face detection and time filtering to cut false alerts. ePTZ provides 48x digital zoom for closer inspection of a fixed scene.

Recording goes to a MicroSD/SDHC/SDXC card or to network-attached storage, with seamless recording to cover network outages. Two-way full-duplex audio uses G.711 or G.726 over external microphone and line outputs, and one digital input and one digital output handle alarm devices. The VC9101 supports ONVIF Profile G, S and T, serves up to 10 simultaneous viewers, and hardens access with HTTPS, IEEE 802.1x, secure boot, signed firmware and Trend Micro IoT Security. It operates from -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F) at up to 90% relative humidity, carries CE, FCC, RCM, VCCI, UL, CB and BSMI approvals, and is backed by a 60-month manufacturer warranty.
