This is done because color cameras use IR-cut filters which are essential to clear undistorted imaging in the color spectrum in which humans see. However when monochrome is used the IR-cut filter can be automatically removed to allow the security camera to produce high quality images using the Infrared light without distortion in even very dark scenarios.

When selecting a Day & Night security camera there are a few main considerations. The resolution of a camera will always determine how clear of an image is captured. The Lux
