The AXIS A9920 is an indoor expansion module that adds 16 configurable I/O ports and 16 form C dry-contact relays to an Axis access control or security installation. It is designed to be used with Axis network door controllers or the AXIS A9210 Network I/O Relay Module, and it supports elevator access control applications when paired with a door controller.

Each of the 16 ports can be configured as a digital input, a supervised input using programmable end-of-line resistors of 1 K, 2.2 K, 4.7 K or 10 K, or an open-drain digital output rated 0 to 30 V DC at up to 100 mA. The 16 form C relays are dry-contact only with NO and NC terminals rated 4 A at 12 V DC or 2 A at 30 V DC, so both fail-safe and fail-secure lock wiring terminate on the same module. Multi-drop Expansion IN and Expansion OUT interfaces allow a system to scale to 128 I/Os and 64 relays, or 16 expansion modules, over a single IP connection.

Edge security is handled in hardware with a CC EAL 6+ secure element, secure keystore and secure boot, backed by signed firmware and AES-128 encrypted communication. The steel casing in white NCS S 1002-B mounts to a wall or a DIN rail, and detachable color-coded terminal blocks simplify field wiring. The module integrates with AXIS Camera Station Edge, AXIS Camera Station Pro, AXIS Camera Station 5 and partner video management software, and includes tilt and vibration tamper detection.
