Panoramic Security Cameras
Panoramic security cameras - often referred to as 360° cameras - carry enormous viewing angles. When attached to a ceiling, these cameras can produce enormous 360° images by blending separate sensors together into one unified image. Within this view you can digitally pan, tilt, and zoom. Using dewarping software, you can often go to a 'quad-view', a view where the camera's viewing spectrum is spliced into four separate viewing directions. Many of these cameras come with advanced technology that allow for people counting or heat mapping to show the flow of foot traffic.
180° to 360° views
The key defining feature of most panoramic security cameras is their ability to capture a wider shot thanks to having multiple cameras being built in. By design, they do not feature motorized zoom and rely on digital zoom when enhanced focus is needed by the owner. As video quality is a focus for most manufacturers of this product, it typically is used to support cameras with motorized zoom.
Imaging Solutions
Not only do panoramic security cameras provide a wider shot than traditoinal products, but they typically do so with more quality. With the development of modern high definition, 4k, and megapixel quality, these cameras will not necessarily be less effective due to the lack of motorized zoom. Very rarely do we hear complaints from customers about this shortcoming.
Analytics Technology
Like other IP security cameras, panoramic security cameras are capable of video analytics common with modern CCTV. The long list of features that come with analytics is arguably more effective with these cameras as with a wider view, they are able to detect far more than any other camera on the market. However, rooms with low ceilings and multiple doorways might make it less viable.
Remote Accessible
Combined with a local internet and video analytics, panoramic security cameras can become quite effective in keeping watch over workships, warehouses, parking lots, and more during the day or night. While at the time of writing, these security cameras are not as capable in complete darkness, they still allow for low light and limited night time surveillance.
Having been a rising trend in the surveillance field since 2016, panoramic security cameras continue to be a popular option for businesses needing a wider shot from their device while still retaining modern crisp quality. Available in the normal dome and bulb designs with wider lenses, panoramic security cameras also come in unique designs that feature multiple sensors in one device. While more expensive than the average camera, these CCTV products allow for 180° to 360° coverage that allows for better supervision that makes them perfect for markets, airports, hotels, facilities, and more. When you’re looking for a camera that covers a wide area, multiple lanes, or several aisles, the panoramic security camera has become the best possible option for you. There is no denying that these cameras demand more from the purchaser and the system they are installed when compared to the average dome cameras, bullet cameras, or turret cameras. Typically featuring a higher price tag, increased consumption of data when recording, and need higher bandwidth for streaming, panoramic security cameras are most common in commercial CCTV systems that can afford them. That’s not to say that smaller systems cannot support these products, they indeed allow for an excellent solution for those that can afford them, but these products just are not typically practical in such scenarios. To highlight that and more, read on below to learn about the features that come with these products.

The raw footage has a peculiar, warped view. Video management software de-warps the view and allows you to manipulate footage as you watch.
