The Ubiquiti UA-G3-B is a third-generation UniFi Access RFID/NFC reader engineered as a slim, mullion-mount access control endpoint for offices, multi-tenant residential, retail entrances, and interior doors. The compact 3.7 x 1.6 in form factor fits alongside doorframes, elevator entries, and tight installations where full-size readers won't work, while the black glass front and polycarbonate housing produce a modern architectural appearance.

The reader supports the full complement of UniFi Access credential formats: NFC cards and key fobs at 13.56 MHz across ISO/IEC 14443A, 14443B, 15693, and 18092 standards — with native support for MIFARE Classic, MIFARE DESFire, Sony FeliCa (ID only), NFC Forum tags T1T through T5T, and Apple's Enhanced Contactless Protocol (ECP) 2.0. This last capability enables Touch Pass support for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet credentials — users simply tap their phone or watch to unlock. BLE 4.1 is also supported for mobile-app unlock from inside pocket or bag distance.

A unique Handwave Request to Exit feature uses a proximity sensor to detect a user's hand from the interior side, triggering exit release without a button press — supporting hygiene-conscious and touchless entry-and-exit installations. R/G/B/W multi-color LEDs on the front face provide clear access-decision feedback to the user, and an integrated speaker supplements the visual indication with audible tones.

The reader is powered over PoE (Class 2 LPS-compliant, 48 VDC, 5 W max) — installing with a single Ethernet drop that handles both power and data. IP55 weatherproofing allows use both indoors and in sheltered outdoor entries. UL 294 Level I certified across all four categories (Destructive Attack, Line Security, Endurance, Standby Power) plus CAN/ULC-60839-11-1 Grade I certification qualify the reader for demanding life-safety access control installations across North America. ESD/EMP protection of ±15 kV air / ±8 kV contact ensures reliable operation in electrically noisy environments. NDAA compliant for U.S. federal procurement; CE, FCC, IC, and SRRC certified for global enterprise deployments. An in-wall gang box is included; optional junction box mount is sold separately.
