The Ubiquiti UA-RETROFIT-READER-B is a versatile indoor/outdoor access control reader designed to work with the UniFi Retrofit Hub, enabling modern NFC and mobile credential access using existing legacy cabling infrastructure. Supporting OSDP v2 over RS-485, this reader integrates seamlessly into new or retrofit deployments without requiring new wiring runs — a significant cost advantage for building upgrades.

The reader supports a broad range of contactless credentials including NFC cards and key fobs, Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and mobile unlock via BLE 4.1. Its 13.56 MHz NFC engine is compatible with ISO 14443A/B, ISO 15693, MIFARE Classic, MIFARE Plus, MIFARE Ultralight, and MIFARE DESFire — covering virtually every modern contactless card standard in use today. With an IP55 weatherproof rating and an operating temperature range of -30 to 50°C, it is equally suited for lobby entrances and exterior door installations.

Built with a polycarbonate and aluminum alloy enclosure with a stainless steel mount, the UA-RETROFIT-READER-B is durable, tamper-resistant, and NDAA compliant for use in government and security-sensitive facilities. It mounts to a standard single-gang box (included) or an optional junction box, and is managed through the UniFi Access application.
