The AXIS M3098-H is an AI-powered 8MP recessed mini dome camera from the AXIS M30 Series, purpose-built for discreet in-ceiling installation in indoor drop-ceiling environments such as offices, retail stores, airports, and hotel lobbies. Designed so that only the camera dome and covering ring are externally visible, it blends seamlessly into ceiling tiles while delivering full 3840×2160 (4K) resolution imaging. The 1/1.8" progressive scan CMOS sensor with a 3.76mm fixed lens produces a 124° horizontal field of view — ideal for wide-area coverage from a single mounting point — and the Lightfinder technology ensures clear, full-color imagery in near-darkness conditions without IR illumination.

The M3098-H ships with AXIS Object Analytics and AXIS Audio Analytics preinstalled at no additional cost. AXIS Object Analytics leverages the onboard CV75 SoC deep learning processing unit to detect and classify humans, vehicles, and vehicle subtypes across up to 10 simultaneous behavioral scenarios — including line crossing, tailgating detection, and PPE monitoring. The integrated acoustic sensor adds an audio intelligence layer: AXIS Audio Analytics detects screams, shouts, glass breaks, and coughing fits using adaptive AI classification, triggering alerts even when no visual event is visible. AXIS Scene Metadata also delivers granular object attributes including vehicle color and clothing color for forensic search.

Axis Edge Vault provides hardware-rooted cybersecurity through a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 / CC EAL6+ certified secure element for cryptographic key storage, signed video for tamper evidence, secure boot, and AES-XTS-256-bit encrypted filesystem.
