The AXIS M4338-PLVE is a 12MP outdoor-ready panoramic fisheye network camera delivering 180-degree and 360-degree coverage from a single unit. Using the latest sensor technology on an approximately 1/1.6 inch RGB CMOS sensor, it offers 30 percent higher resolution than previous generations, reaching up to 3536 x 3536 pixels. A single camera covers an entire area, reducing the number of devices, IP addresses and licenses required for full coverage.

Day and night functionality with an automatic IR-cut filter and built-in IR illumination using individual IR LEDs ensures clear images in low light or complete darkness, with minimum illumination rated at 0.08 lux in color and 0 lux with IR active. The camera is AI-powered by the ARTPEC-9 system on chip with a deep learning processing unit, and ships with AXIS Object Analytics preinstalled. AI models are specifically trained for the 360-degree fisheye view, and a range of camera-side dewarped views let operators monitor the scene in the format that suits each installation.

The camera streams H.264, H.265, AV1 and Motion JPEG, supporting up to 20 unique configurable video streams and Axis Zipstream technology to reduce bandwidth and storage. Forensic WDR reaches up to 120 dB depending on the scene, and the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 55 dB. This vandal- and impact-resistant camera includes Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based cybersecurity platform that safeguards the device and provides FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure key storage and operations.
