The AXIS M4348-PLVE is a next-generation 12MP fisheye camera from the AXIS M43 Series, purpose-built for outdoor 360° panoramic surveillance in parking lots, plazas, retail floors, and perimeter zones. Featuring a 1/1.6" progressive scan CMOS sensor with 2.0 µm pixel size, it delivers up to 3536×3536 resolution at 30 fps — a 30% resolution improvement over previous AXIS M43 generation cameras. Its 1.7mm fixed iris lens captures a full 185° horizontal field of view, enabling complete coverage from a single mounting point while offering camera-side dewarped views for operator-friendly monitoring without server-side processing overhead.

The AXIS M4348-PLVE is powered by the ARTPEC-9 SoC with an onboard deep learning processing unit (DLPU), enabling AXIS Object Analytics and AXIS Audio Analytics to run simultaneously at no additional licensing cost. AXIS Object Analytics detects and classifies humans, vehicles, and vehicle subtypes across up to 10 simultaneous scenarios — including line crossing, occupancy monitoring, and tailgating detection — using AI models specifically trained for 360° fisheye imagery. The built-in digital MEMS microphone and AXIS Audio Analytics add acoustic intelligence, detecting screams, shouts, glass breaks, and coughing fits, and the unique directional audio detection feature identifies the precise direction of the sound source within the circular overview.

Axis Edge Vault provides hardware-rooted cybersecurity through a FIPS 140-3 Level 3 / CC EAL6+ certified secure element for cryptographic key storage, signed video for tamper evidence, secure boot, and AES-XTS-256 bit encrypted filesystem. OptimizedIR illumination with individually controllable IR LED zones provides up to 65 ft (20 m) night vision coverage. The camera is IP66, NEMA 4X, and IK10-rated for demanding outdoor deployments, operates from -40°C to 50°C, and is TAA compliant.
