The Axis P3364-VE IP Security Camera is housed in a casing that is strong enough to withstand up to 20 Joules, which is equivalent to a 5 kg weight being dropped on the unit from a height of 40 cm. Furthermore, the camera's aluminum casing is IP66- and NEMA 4X-rated. This means that it is well-protected against corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing water, hose-directed water, and damage from external ice formation. It can also operate in harsh conditions ranging from -40 to 131°F. Additionally, it has a built-in heater and fan assembly and an integrated dehumidifying membrane that eliminates any humidity caught in the camera casing during installation. It delivers 30 fps in all resolutions up to HDTV 720p/1MP. The device also supports digital pan/tilt/zoom, allowing a view area cropped from the full view to be streamed for viewing or recording. This can be used to minimize the bit rate and storage needs by optimizing the fixed viewing angle after installation, or by allowing pan, tilt and digital zoom in the view.

The outstanding light sensitivity, with maintained colors even in very poor lighting conditions, is obtained by a combination of Axis' expertise in image processing, system-on-chip development and selection of the best optical components. The device also supports P-Iris control, allowing it to precisely control the position of the iris. The iris opening is optimized for depth of field, lens resolution and light inlet, resulting in superb image quality with optimal sharpness. It is the perfect solution for video surveillance systems in areas with tough quality and efficiency requirements such as airports, city surveillance, banks, schools and university campuses.
