The AXIS Q2802-E is a premium bispectral camera from the AXIS Q28 Series that combines a VGA (640×480) uncooled microbolometer thermal sensor with a high-resolution 8MP (4K) visual sensor on a single IP address and in a single ruggedized housing. The 63° HFoV variant (03600-001) pairs a wide-angle 10mm athermalized thermal lens with a 5.85mm visual lens delivering a 114° horizontal field of view, making it ideal for covering broad perimeter zones, open areas, parking lots, and building facades where both wide-area thermal detection and full-color visual verification are required simultaneously. The thermal visual image fusion capability creates a blended output that overlays thermal heat signatures onto visible-light imagery, dramatically accelerating operator situational awareness.

Running on the ARTPEC-8 SoC with a dedicated deep learning processing unit (DLPU), the camera supports AXIS Object Analytics on the visual stream — detecting and classifying humans, vehicles, and vehicle subtypes across 10 simultaneous behavioral scenarios. AXIS Perimeter Defender on the thermal stream provides reliable long-range detection and classification of humans and vehicles intruding on protected perimeters with industry-leading false-alarm immunity against environmental triggers such as rain, wind, animals, and moving foliage. The thermal sensor achieves NETD <20 mK thermal sensitivity — one of the most sensitive in its class — enabling detection of humans at up to 291 m (954 ft) and vehicles at up to 890 m (2,919 ft) in this 63° variant.

The camera withstands extreme conditions: IP66/IP67, NEMA 4X, and IK10-rated (excluding front window), with MIL-STD-810H validation and sustained wind speed tolerance up to 60 m/s (134 mph). It operates from -40°C to 60°C in full-power mode, is powered via PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at, max 25.5W) or 10–28 VDC, and includes RS485/RS422 serial interfaces.
