The AXIS Q2802-E is a premium bispectral camera from the AXIS Q28 Series that combines a VGA (640×480) uncooled microbolometer thermal sensor with a high-resolution 8MP (4K) visual sensor on a single IP address and in a single ruggedized housing. The 31° HFoV variant (03602-001) uses a 19mm athermalized thermal lens for focused medium-range perimeter coverage, with a 13.8mm visual lens delivering a 46° horizontal field of view. This variant is optimized for monitoring fence lines, building approaches, and access roads where greater detection range than wide-angle variants is required — enabling human detection up to 559 m (1,834 ft) and vehicle detection up to 1,596 m (5,235 ft). The thermal visual image fusion feature creates a blended output that overlays thermal heat signatures onto visible-light imagery for accelerated operator identification.

Running on the ARTPEC-8 SoC with a dedicated deep learning processing unit (DLPU), the camera supports AXIS Object Analytics on the visual stream — detecting and classifying humans, vehicles, and vehicle subtypes across 10 simultaneous behavioral scenarios. AXIS Perimeter Defender on the thermal stream provides reliable long-range intrusion detection with industry-leading false-alarm immunity against rain, wind, animals, and moving vegetation. The NETD <20 mK thermal sensitivity ensures detection of subtle heat signatures even in challenging environmental conditions including total darkness, fog, and smoke where visual cameras are ineffective.
