Car Wash Security Camera System
In our 10 years of experience designing car wash security camera systems, damage claims made by customers has been the most common concern we have seen. This is especially prevalent in drive through car washes.
Utilizing the industries most advanced technologies, our video surveillance experts will provide you with a cost effective solution targeted at reducing your liability and providing peace of mind.
Below we have included some details from a car wash we worked with in Bakersfield CA. Every car wash is different so we recommend giving one of our video surveillance experts a call so that we can design the most effective security camera system for your specific problems.
Vehicle damage liability was the main concern. We needed visual documentation of both sides of the vehicle at the entrance and exit of the car wash.
Viewing his cameras remotely was crucial for this customer. He owned three car washes and invested in real estate. He needed to see all of his cameras while on the go.
Utilizing their eight vacuums was complimentary for car wash customers. He wanted to have an overview shot of the area in case of property damage or other unforeseen incidents that could occur.
Storage was important. They needed to maintain several months of video clips from the four cameras that were at the entrance and exit of the car wash.
Payment for the car wash was done at a drive through kiosk. You would select your wash from a small touch screen and then make your payment. They needed to capture both the money transaction as well as the drivers face.
We chose to go with a 2K resolution camera system. The ultra-high resolution would provide detail of the vehicles coming and going in the car wash. Clean sharp images are crucial when fighting a damage claim. Additionally we felt bullet cameras would provide the most versatility in mount placement and provide more of a deterrent against vandalism.
Security Camera Systems Features
The fixed length or vari-focal length refers to the ability to adjust the camera’s field of view. The smaller the lens size, the wider the field of view. Fixed lenses will be fixed for the life of the camera but vari-focal lenses can be adjusted to have the best field of view. Vari-focal lenses are two kinds, manual and auto. If you choose manual vari-focal lense, you will need to hold the camera adjust the focal length where as if you choose motorized vari-focal lens, you will be able to perform the same task from your computer. That is the main difference.
