A good edition to my collection. The DVR was a superb buy. I have six cameras running on it (not planning on getting anymore). I saved some money too as the unit I got was on sale. The cameras I have are not of amazing quality but the ease of the zoom feature in the playback is very satisfying. Another feature about the playback is the time selection. Go to a specific time and you can view the feed from all the cameras in my case six, at the same time. One problem I have encountered is the=at the recorder collects dust. I have to dust it twice a week even though it is far from the window. The control buttons make watching the video way more convenient.

To build a cheap security system the LTS DVR is a must have. Most people especially someone setting up a security system would like to invest in a reliable solution. But gathering cameras and sensor leads to compatibility issues. This DVR can run with a lot of different cameras. The storage space even though a little too much for home use is more than enough to store your footage. Getting the DVR removes the need for getting a new monitor. It supports HDMI and VGA so I picked up a second hand monitor to attach to mine.

As part of an interior project our client asked us to look into a camera system. For that request I consulted a colleague of mine who helped me find all the right things. The cameras we purchased were second hand but from a reliable source. I wanted the cameras to use the least amount of wiring as covering them up could ruin the budget. That’s where I came to know about PoE that let the camera connect directly to the DVR. Pretty neat. The LTS recorder had the perfect amount of storage even though we got a 2TB drive. The shape of the recorder makes it slide behind the counter with ease and you don’t even notice it’s there, which for me is great news. This was my first time learning about setting up a security system.

Cost saving. The great thing about this DVR is that it supports cameras made by other companies. I had to buy a recorder so I could view and record footage from three different cameras. That reason I bought this model is because it could run my cameras. Then I got another camera this time a Sony and attached it to the recorder and it worked like a charm. I don’t see myself using the other four ports anytime soon but it’s great to have.
