The AXIS M3945-R RJ45 2.8 mm is a rugged, AI-powered 2MP indoor dome camera built for onboard surveillance on buses. It records 1920x1080 video at up to 25/30 fps with Forensic WDR enabled, or 50/60 fps without WDR, using a 1/2.8" progressive scan RGB CMOS sensor. This variant features a fixed 2.8mm F2.0 M12-mount lens with a 99° horizontal and 55° vertical field of view and a minimum focus distance of 1 m (3.28 ft), and connects through a standard RJ45 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX PoE connector.

Lightfinder 2.0 preserves color in low light down to 0.16 lux, while Forensic WDR of up to 120 dB balances bright windows against darker cabin interiors. Scene profiles (forensic, vivid and traffic overview) help optimize image settings for each environment. A deep learning processing unit on the CV75 system-on-chip runs the included AXIS Video Motion Detection and AXIS Tampering Detection and supports third-party ACAP applications, and H.264, H.265 and Motion JPEG compression with Axis Zipstream keeps bandwidth and storage use under control.

Designed for transit, the camera is certified to UNECE R10, UNECE R118 and IEC 60721-3-5 Class 5M3 for vibration and shock, and its aluminum and plastic casing is rated IP66, IP67, NEMA 4X and IK10. A built-in microphone with a physical switch adds audio to recorded video. The camera is powered by PoE (IEEE 802.3af Class 2, max 4.42 W), supports encrypted microSD/SDHC/SDXC edge storage, and is protected by the Axis Edge Vault cybersecurity platform with signed video and secure boot. It is TAA and NDAA compliant and backed by a 5-year warranty.
