Description

AXIS P3707-PE 8MP 360 Degree Multi-sensor Dome IP Security Camera 0815-001

Get a 360° overview or a combination of overviews and close-ups with AXIS P3707-PE Network Camera. The 8-megapixel multisensor fixed camera has four varifocal camera heads to capture scenes in various directions in wide or zoomed-in views.

Essentially a four-camera-in-one unit, AXIS P3707-PE offers a cost-effective solution for the surveillance of large indoor and outdoor areas such as in retail stores, shopping malls, warehouses, lobbies of schools, hotels and offices, and parking lots. It is also ideal for use at the intersection of hallways, aisles and roads, and at the corner of buildings.

With four camera heads in one body, AXIS P3707-PE is cost-effective, not only when compared with the price of four standard varifocal cameras of comparable performance. Installation is made easier with only one network cable instead of four. One cable also reduces the number of ports required on a switch. And the camera's one IP address means it requires only one software license fee (instead of four) with most video management programs. In addition, the camera is powered through Power over Ethernet, which eliminates the need to access a nearby power outlet. AXIS P3707-PE also has low power consumption, using max. 5.5 W.

Each varifocal lens of AXIS P3707-PE allows installers to optimize the field of view to meet the surveillance requirement: wide for overview surveillance, and telephoto for zoomed-in views when greater detail is needed. For optimal positioning, each camera head has the flexibility to slide +/-90° along a circular track. Each also has a tilt of 28° to 92°. For capturing vertically oriented scenes such as long corridors and roads, each camera head can rotate 90° to support AXIS' Corridor Format.

I am a huge fan of AXIS; I have used a couple of security devices from the company in the past and this is my third camera from AXIS. I trust the brand as it has only delivered good products and same goes with this camera as well. The 8MP camera result speaks for itself and it enables you to have a 360-degree view which is deal for most of the users out there.

The camera is fairly decent and provides a really good area of coverage. The frame rate is too low especially when covering an area with a large number of people. When viewing footage with a lot of subjects present in the frame the very small details can slip past which make a huge difference. This makes it absolutely vital that there are no blind spots or grey areas while positioning the cameras. The problem is during installation there are no crowds present and the field of vision between an empty space and a crowded space is completely different.

I was not very happy with my previous security camera and was quite hesitant to make another useless investment. The main feature that I liked is the 8MP camera with 360-degree view. The camera head has the ability to slide in circular motion. I am glad that I have found a great device. Now I will only buy from AXIS

The price is right. The four cameras in a single unit provide the maximum area of coverage. Spaces like open warehouses can easily have a system of interconnected 360 degree coverage cameras. The biggest save here is money. In comparison to purchasing four cameras a single camera is doing the same job. The frame rate is enough to capture all motions but it lacks the fluid motion as one would expect from security cameras. That is so far the only downside. The four cameras inside the dome can be individually positioned to make sure nothing escapes its sights.

As a whole the camera works great for large spaces. The dome of the camera makes it possible to adjust the individual cameras to any setting without any glare or reflection. The rotating sensor enable easy panoramic coverage of the area. The wireless capabilities make the cameras safer and cheaper. The safety is improved by the fact that there are no wires connecting it the server making hardware tampering more difficult. It’s cheaper again because the camera is wireless and no cables have to be laid to attach it to the system. The device is quite resilient to weather and can be easily used outdoors. The added advantage of indoor/outdoor use make the camera ideal for installation outside of buildings or near intersections. Lastly the video compression technology enables the camera to transmit high quality imagery while conserving space and saving bandwidth.

There is no better security camera out there that is as cost effective as this little gizmo. I prefer products that come with plenty of features and don’t bend my pocket I went through some reviews and this camera came out on top and I bought it. You can get zoomed in views. The camera head can slide in circular motion as well!
