One thing works in the camera’s favor and one against it. The downside of the camera is that there are cheaper cameras available that can perform the same function. The bright side is the wide angle of coverage. More coverage means less hardware needed to cover a space. The video is good enough for the cost.

I’m not completely sold on the strength of the camera to handle damage. Even though it has a IP67 rating for the price I feel like it may or may not be up to the challenge. Besides that it works pretty decent. Don’t expect much as you get what you paid for.

Something is missing and that happens to be video quality. The camera captures in 5 MP but if its placed near a source of bright light the video will be dodgy. Another thing to keep in mind is where the camera will be mounted as too high means bad footage and too low leaves it open to damage.

In combination with other oculur products you are looking at a very affordable security system. Oculur offers a wide range of products that jam well with each other. An area of concern for me would be the video encryption. All cameras and recorders have built in security fail safe that prevents the stealing or tampering of feed. I don’t know if the camera shares a high level of security and it makes me slightly uneasy. The network tech does make for easy installation and handling of the camera which is great as it lets lets me record and stream the video separately.

The water resistance I can personally attest to. I had to install a cheap camera in my car wash. As the ceiling is low hanging and we have to pressure hose mud covered cars the camera gets splashed every once in a while. For a cheap camera it does an ok job. There is nothing special about the thing it is very simple and straightforward. I like that it doesn’t rely on glitz and glam to sell itself. The wide range meant that one camera is enough to capture a bay made to fit two pretty large GMCs at the same time.
