If you are looking to band together cheap products to set up a security system this is the NVR for you. The recorder can support four cameras and for the price it’s decent. Since it has power over Ethernet just a single cable needed to connect the camera to the recorder.
Bitter sweet victory. I love how affordable the recorder is and the 4 TB storage has me smiling. The problem is the four camera support. In case I want to install another camera I have to either get some sort of adapter (which seems like a big no) or find a new recorder.
A bargain for the recording quality. The ports are a little less for me but the price fell comfortably under budget. Exchanging one or two ports seems like fair trade for the image quality. The recorder captures video from my 6 MP outdoor camera flawlessly.
Got it for my apartment and no complaints so far. The one issue was I needed five cameras and the recorder supported four. The solution that I eventually settled for was sourcing a camera that could do the job of two cameras. Unlike the recorder the camera did not come this cheap.
The recorder is full of surprises. Not really but just enough attention to detail that you feel it is up to code with your security needs. The best part about it is the simultaneous playback. You can go to a specific time and watch the feed from all four cameras. The number of cameras that can attach to the recorder make it great for small scale security. Even so you don’t need to cut the quality as it can support video recording from 6 MP cameras and a matching HD video output. The one element it is missing I compactness.
Simplicity and function all rolled into one tiny black box. Looking at the recorder you just see a piece of equipment at work with no funny business. The boring front face doesn’t distract you from the screen. A good thing considering you are in a dimly lit room with screens and lights without the worry of tiny flickering LEDs to distract you.
Does good work if you are smart enough to use it right. One of these recorders covers the entire ground floor of our apartment building. The floor has a narrow hallway, stair case, and the main and garage entrances. On the floor above people have their own security systems installed and are more than willing to share their data in case of mishap. The recorder is connected to overhead dome cameras with 4 x optical zoom and full HD video recording. The storage on the recorder lets me dedicate one TB of storage to each camera and by the looks of it, I won’t be needed storage anytime soon.
