The IP66 and NEMA 4X rated Axis Q1614-E Network Camera offers a robust aluminium packaging with sunshield to improve installation time and expenses. It is shielded from dust, rain, snow, and sun, and can work in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to 50 °C(-40 °F to 122 °F). This system is also known as the Axis' Arctic Temperature Control. The double shell innovation keeps the inward shell warm in frosty situations and a fan ventilates the air in hot temperatures.

This outdoor camera provides a one-link installation process by the support of Power over Ethernet. For higher adaptability, three cable gaskets holes are available for an Ethernet cable, a power cable, and for an external device connected through the camera's I/O ports. Axis Q1614-E conveys highly detailed videos in fast-paced environments. Image identification is simplified by clear video functionality that brings out 50 to 60 frames per second in a HDTV 720p format. Axis Q1614-E Network Camera utilizes Application Programming Interface for software integration, including VAPIX from Axis communications.
